Card Statuses

A card status specifies the state of the card itself, independently of the account status. Card statuses can be assigned by internal processes or they can be manually changed by the Program API, such as by using Modify Status. When changing a card status using the Modify Status endpoint, make sure the type changes the card status and not the account status only.

Card status is independent of account status. It is possible for one account to have multiple cards in different statuses. Both the account and card must be in status: N (normal, active) to perform card transactions.

See the Card Statuses guide for information on how card statuses change.

This table indicates whether a card status permits different types of transactions or account updates. See Account Statuses for more information.

🚧

Important

Galileo is obligated to post every transaction in a settlement file for every PAN that exists in the system, regardless of card or account status, and regardless of account balance.
