Restricted values
| Value | Use case |
|---|---|
ACCTVERIFY | Micro entries (<$1 account validation). |
RETRY PYMT | Re-initiate debits returned for insufficient funds (R01) or uncollected funds (R09). Per Nacha rules, two re-initiation attempts may be made and must occur within 180 days of the original entry’s settlement date. |
NONSETTLED | Reserved exclusively for the ACH Operator. Not applicable. |
REVERSAL | Reversing files or individual entries. A reversing file or entry may only be initiated if it is erroneous (e.g. it cannot be used if an originator cannot fund the credit). The originator must also make a reasonable attempt to notify the receiver no later than the settlement date of the reversal. Per Nacha rules, a reversal must be transmitted within 24 hours of discovery and must be made available to the RDFI within five banking days following the settlement date of the erroneous entry. |
RECLAIM | Reclaim payments or to handle specific requested returns, such as notifying an RDFI that a receiver is deceased. |
HCCLAIMPMT | Identify healthcare claim payments for providers. |
RETURN FEE | Returned item fee. While Nacha requires this value when assessing a returned item fee via ACH, it is currently restricted. |
