Metro 2 Base Segment

The base segment of the Metro 2 file contains account information, including account status, balance, and payment history. The base segment also helps identify the primary account holder on secured credit accounts with authorized users. The automated calculations follow industry standards while providing flexibility for special business situations.

The total length of the base segment is 426 characters. The following table provides details on the information each represented in each position and how the value is calculated.

A payment rating is based on how many days past the due date an account becomes delinquent. If an account is fewer than 30 days past due, it is considered current and receives a payment rating(rep_pmt_rating) of 0 with an account status(rep_acct_status) of 11. Once it reaches 30 days past due, the account becomes delinquent and the payment rating increases to 1 with an account status of 71, continuing to escalate in 30-day increments until the account is brought current.
